Are commercial pet foods bad???

Some are and some aren't.   The best diet you can provide for your dog or cat is a raw food diet.   There are many books out there to provide you with the appropriate information to make your own pet's food.   Some pet food stores even sell pre-made raw foods.   Most cats love raw food but some dogs will not eat it, my own dog is a good example of that.   If you do decide to buy a kibble for your dog or cat, make sure you read the ingredient panel before you buy it.   Bad commercial foods will have meat or poultry by-products, wheat, corn and corn gluten.   Try to supplement your pets diet with raw bones to chew on, beef or chicken (never give cooked chicken bones to your pet!!!).   If you are using a kibble diet add things like cod liver oil or flax seed oil to make it more nutritious.   Some good commercial brands are:
1. Orijen
2. Urban Wolf and Urban King

Lavender Insect Repellant Recipe

1/2 cup distilled or bottled water
24 drops lavender essential oil

Mix the water and essential oil well and pour into a spray bottle.   Spray and rub into cat or dog's fur to repel flies, gnats, and fleas.   Be careful not to spray into the eyes.   Cedarwood essential oil can also be used instead of lavender or with the lavender oil.
